Venus Caruso founded Caruso Law PLLC after practicing law for nearly two decades, first as a litigator and then as in-house legal counsel.
As a former Partner at the prominent national law firm of Akerman, Venus represented various clients, from Fortune 500 companies to national law firms and mid-sized businesses, in complex commercial litigation cases involving high value claims for amounts ranging from high six figures to over 1 billion dollars. At the same time, Venus advised diverse clients on business related legal matters, from commercial contracts, LLC operating agreements, business governance matters, employees and the workplace, healthcare law and regulatory compliance, vendor and supplier agreements and relationships, and trade secrets, to confidentiality, non-competition, non-solicitation, data privacy and security, startup matters, and risk mitigation strategies.
Following her success in BigLaw, Venus transitioned to executive in-house legal counsel roles at privately held companies operating in highly regulated industries. In addition to serving as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, C-levels, and company management, Venus led all legal and regulatory affairs and operations. This included overseeing business governance matters, administering the legal and compliance departments, drafting and negotiating company-wide contracts, writing employment agreements and workplace documents, guiding data privacy and cybersecurity programs, managing key external vendor and client relationships, pioneering a culture of continuous staff training and client education, resolving disputes, and mitigating risks.
During her litigation years, Venus was honored to be recognized as one of Florida's Legal Elite for Commercial Litigation, an accolade then awarded to fewer than 2% of all practicing Florida licensed attorneys.
